Panlasa is a Tagalog word for ‘taste’ or ‘flavour’ and I couldn’t think of a better title for this blog since it’s about food. And food should have some kind of flavour to it.
So, who am I, hiding behind the name Panlasa? I’m Juan Bas – home cook, foodie, writer, dad, husband, teacher, martial artist and dreamer. I have another blog, Contemplations, in which I talk about anything and everything but with a slight lean towards promoting my novels (I’ve written and published one and I’m working on two others) and about writing and books, in general. I’ve even posted about food, on occasion. Here, however, I’ve decided to give it a go as a food blogger. I like to cook and I like to eat. So, at the very least, I have an opinion about the subject. Besides, based on what people have told me, I’m a pretty decent cook at that.
So, here at Panlasa, I’ll share my thoughts about food, meals and the like. I’ll share my own recipes, think out loud about food and food-related topics and I may even play restaurant critic on occasion. I hope you enjoy your visits here and that you try out some of my recipes. Let me know what you think of them and, PLEASE, do share your own. I’m always keen to try out new things.
Welcome to Panlasa and thanks for stopping by.
